Greg Eastwood to return to the NRL?
http://www.therhinos.co.uk/news/14532.php
This news saddens me. Greg had been playing well over here, and his impact will be missed. For the very few games he played, he become some-what a cult hero at Headingley. Bye, bye Beastwood.

Inglis is NOT a straight up swap for Falau. Trust me, if the Broncos do actually manage to sign Inglis you count on there being no more recruits for the 2011 season. Especially not one as high quality as Eastwood.

Inglis won't join the Broncos for $400k, simple as that.

Agreed 100%. As soon as I read the title of this thread I got excited and thought straight away that the Cowboys should make a play for him.
I am a massive fan of Beastwood and would LOVE to see him back in the NRL (preferably at a QLD or NZ club though ).

He will get somewhere between 150-250k in 3rd party deals from what I have read.

Yeah, but that would still count towards the cap. My initial point was if the Broncos were to sign Inglis they'd have no chance at signing Eastwood.

Is Greg Eastwood really worth a £100k ($173k) transfer fee? I mean which club would be willing to pay that for him? I can see why Leeds have put that price on him as he's messed them around, but they're not going to get it.

Ah Wire fan, we must have synchronised biorhythms.
Or maybe great minds think alike, at the same time.

I actually received calls from the Daily Telegraph and Rugby League Week after I published it months and months ago asking for my source and phone numbers to confirm it but I didn't because it's not my job to do their investigating for them

The Beast can pay his own transfer fee.
LOL! Surely, Leeds aren't so ridiculous as to keep a player who doesn't want to play for them and keep paying him just so they can make a bit of coin.
If no NRL club wants him with that stupid transfer fee, I'm sure it'd be reduced or waived.
Cause I'm pretty sure, if a club pays the $175k, it'd count towards the cap as well as his wage. And he'd prolly get around $200k-$250k. He's good, but he ain't no $400k player.

The fee probably won't be paid in full. We are rumoured to be getting Andrew Ryan plus a fee for Beastwood.

Andrew Ryan won't be going to the ESL for at least after next year. He's said countless times he'll see out his contract (Which ends end of 2011). He may even play on after 2011 with the Bulldogs.

A tranfer fee does not represent how much a player earns.
Farmduck is saying that if Leeds are demanding a £100k transfer fee, the club paying that are not going to give him a big contract on top of it.
It's irrelevant really though because they won't get £100,000 for him.
