Unhappy Problems with the ball?

Is anyone having problems with the ball, in that the ball is just going through the paddle occasionally?

It has happened to me sometimes and it is particularly frustrating since I just die because the ball just goes through the paddle.

Any help is appreciated!

Is your frame rate noticeably bad?

I don't think the frame rate is slow, but it might be that my graphics are not good enough and the computer can't keep up. Is that a possibility?

If you have an unstable frame rate or a low frame rate then this can create instability in the physics simulation. If you turn all your graphics settings down to a minimum and then see if it still happens with a smooth and high frame rate then we'd know if this is the issue.

So I turned down the resolution, and it certainly does work better.
Can you quickly explain what vsynch and triple buffer is in simple terms?

I'm not sure if I should uncheck both or leave some checked.

Thanks for the help.

Read this

If your frame rate is around 60fps and v-sync is on it may fluctuate a bit coursing application will be going from 60fps to 30fps to 60fps to 30fps and the physics may be suffering from this... Try it without v-sync and the original settings you had. If that works try with v-sync and tripple buffering on. This should help prevent the drops but requires more memory (probably not an issue).

Thank you so much for all your help!

I've adjusted the resolution and now the game works without the ball running through my paddle!

I love the game so much!
